FUNCTIONS & TASKS

Dalat Nuclear Research Institute (DNRI) was established in 1976 based on taking over the previous Atomic Research Centre in Dalat city with an original USA-made 250-kW TRIGA Mark II Research Reactor.

In order to fulfill the mission, DNRI has the following main duties:

• To manage and exploit the Research Reactor and other scientific instruments;
• To carry out fundamental and applied researches in the field of nuclear science and technology to meet the needs of socio-economic progress of the country;
• To ensure nuclear and radiation safety at DNRI and assist other institutions in radiation safety in order to maintain the sustainable development of the nuclear sector in Vietnam;
• To prepare material & technical bases and manpower for the Center for Nuclear Energy Science and Technology (CNEST) Project with a new research reactor.
